Heart of Texas unemployment rate declines in March
Waco, TX ⎯ The Heart of Texas six-county regional unemployment rate edged down to 4.2% for March 2023, a decrease of .4% from February 2023. No new jobs were reported for March and 1,175 continued unemployment claims were recorded.
Bosque County recorded the lowest unemployment rate (3.9%), followed by McLennan (4.0%), Hill and Falls (4.5%), and Limestone (4.8%). Freestone’s rate remained the highest at 5.5%. The regional unemployment rate is in line with the state’s (4.2%) and above the national unemployment rate (3.6%), TWC’s TexasLMI.com reports.
