Heart of Texas unemployment remains unchanged for August
WACO, Texas—Unemployment in the Heart of Texas region held steady in August, with the unemployment rate remaining at 4.3%, as reported by TexasLMI.com. This figure encompasses 7,773 unemployed individuals and 977 ongoing unemployment claims. The region also saw a reduction of 200 jobs during August.
Freestone County reported the highest unemployment rate at 5.9%, followed by Limestone (5.3%), Falls (4.6%), and Hill (4.2%). McLennan and Bosque County reported the lowest unemployment rate at 4.1%. The regional unemployment rate is lower than the state average of 4.5% and higher than the national rate of 3.9%.
