Heart of Texas Unemployment Rate at 4.1%
Waco, Texas ⎯ The unemployment rate for the Heart of Texas region stood at 4.1% in August, with 7,658 residents seeking employment. The Waco Metropolitan Area saw an increase of 1,100 jobs last month, bringing the total number of jobs in the region to 138,400, according to the latest data from TexasLMI.com.
Bosque County has the lowest unemployment rate in the region at 3.9%, followed by McLennan (4.0%), Hill (4.2%), Limestone (4.5%), Falls (4.6%), and Freestone (5.4%). Notably, the region’s average unemployment rate is below both the state of Texas and the national averages, which both stood at 4.4% in August.
