Unemployment rate edges up to 4.1%
WACO, TEXAS –The Heart of Texas region experienced another slight increase in its unemployment rate, rising from 4.0% in January to 4.1% in February. Approximately 7,600 residents were unemployed, and the region recorded 959 continued unemployment claims. The Waco Metropolitan Area gained 200 jobs in February, bringing the total number of jobs to 143,200, according to TexasLMI.com.

- Bosque County: 4.2%
- Falls County: 4.3%
- Freestone County: 4.9%
- Hill County: 4.0%
- Limestone County: 4.6%
- McLennan County: 4.0%
The Heart of Texas unemployment rate remained below both the state (4.3%) and national (4.5%) averages.
