Regional unemployment rate continues to trend downward.
Waco, Texas ⎯ The regional unemployment rate for the Heart of Texas six-county region continues to trend downward, decreasing to 3.8% in Aug ’22. Unemployment claims also saw a decline, with 703 continuing claims for the month. Jobs for the region decreased by 300 for the month of August, TexasLMI.com reports.
McLennan county recorded the lowest rate at 3.7%, followed by Bosque (3.8%), Hill (3.9%), Falls (4.1%), and Limestone (4.7%). Freestone County continues to remain the highest at 5.8%.
The 3.8% regional unemployment rate was comprised of 6,616 unemployed residents in the region. The Heart of Texas unemployment rate is below the state’s (4.2%) and in line with U.S unemployment (3.8%).
