Heart of Texas region sees slight increase in unemployment
Waco, Texas ⎯The unemployment rate for the Heart of Texas region increased to 3.6% in October, a slight uptick from September’s 3.5%. This rate was comprised of 719 continued unemployment claims. The region saw 600 jobs added in the month of October, TexasLMI.com reports.
McLennan and Bosque county recorded the lowest unemployment rate (3.4%), followed by Falls (4.2%), Hill (4.4%) and Limestone (4.5%). Freestone’s rate remained the highest at 5.3%.
The 3.6% regional unemployment rate sits below the state’s (3.8%) and above the national unemployment rate (3.4%).
